Hello, first and foremost, thank you for your hard work on this amazing tool. What is currently working, is working well, but not all features are working as intended on my Mac. Here are the details:
I'm using 3.07, the latest, and running on MacOS 15.7.3 Sequoia, M4 Pro Mac mini.
All of my issues are relating to MKV's, as that's the only video format I really need support for outside of what native MacOS provides.
Here's what IS working: Video previews seem to be working. When I have selected a video in finder and I hit the space bar, the video pops up just fine, and I can watch it play the same way quicklook would natively play an mp4 or mov. It's great. Also, when I'm in "column view" in finder, I can see a preview thumbnail for the video in the right-most quicklook info column. Just the same as with mp4's and mov's, I can hover over the image and tap a little play button to even play the video from within that finder window. All of that works well.
Here is what ISN'T working:
Issue #1: Although finder's column view shows the preview images for the videos in the right-most info column (as explained above), it always defaults to the first frame of the videos. Thus, when an MKV starts with a black frame, the preview is just a black image. In the notes for 3.07, I saw you wrote that there is a new feature to select from further into the video, to prevent exactly this problem. Unfortunately, I'm reporting that this new feature does not work for me.
Issue #2: Thumbnails are not working at all as far as I can tell. Doesn't matter which view I am in finder, gallery, column, list, etc, the little thumbnail images are a generic "MKV" symbol. It appears to be the default MKV video symbol Finder uses. So although all the other features are working, I can't find a way to generate those thumbnails. I've ensured the extensions are enabled in Settings too, so I'm at a loss.
Issue #3: I can't get finder to read duration information of the MKV's. My goal is to sort MKV files by duration, but that function isn't working.
Thanks again, and I look forward to hearing if there's a simple solution I've missed. Otherwise, I suppose these are just bugs to sort out.
